after the band photography and poster design the next project was the CD artwork. the band chose the “digipack” design for their studio cd, so the challenge was to fit all the song lyrics into the digipack template. it was fun to play around with the text to make it work.
here’s the end result:

i have been working at designing and creating the web for over 12 years. after over nine years of working with clients on projects of all sizes, here is a small collection of my work. to filter the entries by project type, please select a category below.
i stole borrowed this idea from my online friend jenn. every year instead of sending out lots of Christmas cards, i create a mix CD of songs that impacted my life throughout the year… kinda like a soundtrack of my life. well, i also went the extra step and created a booklet insert to explain why each song was on the cd. so here’s some examples of that CD booklet.
using the pictures from the fuller still photo shoot, as well as other photos i had taken, and even hand written pieces of paper scanned in, i created a full color cd package design for their studio release cd “color and feeling.” they were more than happy with the design, and i later designed their website and press kit in the same style.
after doing the photo shoot for tammy, i used those photos, and a supplied watercolor scan to create the design for her cd, titled “butterfly.” the CD packaging she decided on was the “digi-pack” format, where the cd packaging opens like a book to reveal a pocket (for the booklet) and a plastic tray (for the cd). the main concept of this CD design revolves around the themes in the music: struggle & questioning to peace, joy & simplicity.
