just some samples

i have been working at designing and creating the web for over 12 years. after over nine years of working with clients on projects of all sizes, here is a small collection of my work. to filter the entries by project type, please select a category below.

tracy apps dot org

i realized that i hadn’t posted my old portfolio site design on here. :) It may be an “older” design now, but i still love it. tracyapps.org was also the first domain name i purchased, dating back to january 2001. It has gone through over a half dozen designs in its lifetime, and has been orange, yellow, black, orange (again), purple, green and even once looked like photoshop 5.5 running on mac OS 9.3 :-) . Since i don’t delete any files off any of my websites, (i always just bought more websites. hah!) i sometimes spend hours just looking through old files and reminiscing.

all services group, inc. – website design

All Services Group came to me with a problem: their website that wasn’t working for them. the company needed an easy to update and informational site to reach their clients. It also needed to be user friendly, organized and emphasize the company’s focus on professional, quality service. the solution was a completely custom wordpress powered website. a jQuery animation box was used on the homepage, not only to give the site a personal feel, but also to echo the company’s existing print marketing materials.

on3design – website (version two)

after over two years of on3design’s first website design, it was time to freshen up the look and feel for the photography company. al & lyndsey also had a new logo and wanted more control over their website & photo galleries. the solution was a completely redesigned wordpress powered website, using flickr for their photo slideshows. the custom wordpress template includes a different flickr slideshow on each page that the client can edit at any time.

#actb

the internet has been a great tool in networking people throughout the world. the web continues to become more and more socially focused. and through social networking, i have met some of my closest friends, all over the world. i’ve enjoyed traveling all over to meet up with some of these amazing people. since we here in wisconsin live through a lot of cold weather, snow and ice. we wisconsinites can easily get “cabin fever” over the winter months, so we have to get creative sometimes. so i thought, “why not just invite all these new friends i met over the internet to my house in the middle of winter for a weekend long party?”

“angrycamp tracy’s basement” was born

being the graphic designer that i am.. i couldn’t just invite people to my house without creating a website for the event first. that’s where this site came from. the colors, logo and design ended up in many forms, including all the attendee’s twitter avatars.

Coloma 150 – website design

coloma, a small town in central wisconsin turned 150 years old, and had a year of special events to celebrate. i designed and programed this small site on wordpress so they could have all the information, newsletters, pictures, events and news in one place. the simple design used in this site provided a very convenient solution to an ever changing amount of information (many of the boxes and pages on the site were added after the site was complete and live). the site continues to be used as a reference of area events and businesses.

reaching out MBA conference – web design

after developing the logo design for the reaching out 2008 LGBT MBA conference, the next step was to create an online presence that would promote, inform and connect people to the 2008 conference in washington DC. the website needed to be professional, and easy to update for the conference organizers. so i programmed the site on wordpress, and gave an online training of how to update, correct, change, and add things to the website… all without having to know anything about web “code.” both i, and my client, are very happy with how this site turned out.

brian’s bistro spices

this is the tasty part of my job as a freelance designer. i have the wonderful opportunity to work for people who create yummy things, like brian’s bistro spices! this site was my first experience using the e-commerce web hosting, shopify.com, and i highly recommend them! and i also highly recommend briansbistrospices.com, because the spices that i bought the other day smell/taste AMAZING. :-) it’s a rough job i tell ya…

divine word lutheran – website design

the goal for this website was to create something that could be very easily updated. so i set up the whole site on wordpress, and gave pastor gaeta the login information and let her go to town with adding content. i also created a flickr account to make it easy for anyone to upload more pictures.
